Overview

Your adventure begins…

Just off Samui, there are some 42 islets and islands strewn across the sea, just waiting to be discovered. Picture perfect scenery with dozens of deserted beaches, bizarre rock formations and calm blue waters.

The day starts early but it’s relaxed all the way. An air-conditioned minibus will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to the Nathon pier. Here you will be met by our guides and the team who will welcome you onboard our 23 metre fully equipped tour boat. The boat has 3 levels with plenty of shaded seating and forward viewing area. The large sundeck has comfortable beanbags and mattresses for those that like a bit of sun. More sheltered seating is on the lower deck together with two toilets.

As you depart you’ll enjoy a light breakfast and your guide will give a briefing on the day’s activities together with making you familiar with the boat’s features. The trip will take about 2 hours and you will soon marvel at the sight of Koh Samui as it comes into view in its’ entirety and the scattered magical islands of the Ang Thong Marine Park with their Karst shapes and beguiling beauty get larger on the horizon.

The first location to visit is in the remote far north of the Park at Koh Tai Plao. This peaceful area is the best location for kayaking with some amazing rock overhangs, tunnels, small caves and a hidden lagoon to explore. Each kayak is provided with a dry bag so you can take your camera with you to take some great shots. Our guides are also happy to help take some nice photos of you kayaking.

After experiencing the stunning beauty of this location up close by kayak you’ll have the opportunity to take a dip in the inviting calm waters. Snorkel, swim or take the plunge and jump from the boat.

Time to enjoy a great lunch onboard as you cruise through the Park heading to the second stop at Koh Mae Ko, the island with a hidden surprise. The lunch is served buffet style and consists of delicious Thai food.

Arriving at Koh Mae Ko you will board a traditional Thai long-tail boat which will land you a small beach. From here your guides will lead you up a relatively short but quite steep climb to a viewing platform where you’ll witness the breathtaking sight of the Emerald Lake. A hidden saltwater lake connected to the open sea by tunnels beneath the island. From this viewpoint you also have a lovely panoramic view of the neighbouring islands. The whole trip is a laid-back affair and if the weather is very hot, you may just want to laze around in the water or on the beach while the others take the climb, it is completely up to you.

The final stop is the main island of Koh Wua Talap where the National Park’s office is located. Here you will have the option of enjoying one of several activities. Choose to explore this area by kayak and circumnavigate the small adjacent island then return and relax on the beach. The second option if you are up for it and are of a moderate to high level of fitness you can choose to make the climb to the view point where you will be rewarded with an amazing vista of the entire Park. A definite photo opportunity here! Keep your eyes peeled as you might be lucky enough to spot some of the resident monkeys that inhabit the island. Another opportunity you may opt for is to make the trek to the stunning Bua Bok Cave with its’ monumental stalagmites and stalactites. For those who prefer to simply relax, the pristine beach here is a great spot to get some sun or you can find shade under one of the many palm trees that dot the beach and the large grassed parklands.

Time to head back to Koh Samui, the team will provide some fresh fruit and a snack while you relax for the journey home. Flake out in a beanbag, get some shade or strike up a conversation with a new friend about the amazing day you’ve just experienced. Waiting at the pier will be the friendly drivers ready to return you back to hotels in time for a sunset dinner.
