Pick up at the hotel at around 08:00 hrs. Takuapa Local Market is the first stop, take a little sightseeing by walk to see the local real life and enjoy some Thai delicacies and fruits in the town’s major market.
Next stop will be the ethical elephant camp with retired elehants. The animals are normally let free in the jungle but they do not know how to survive, so we still need to take care of them.
If you love to get away from the crowds and spend a quality time with these magical Asian elephants in the beautiful Khao Sok rainforest, taking care of elephants (no riding), cook and walk with them, love to see them throwing dirt, rubbing, scratching, observing their foraging behaviour in the free, bathing giant pachyderms in the river, then this tour is perfect for you.
Siam Travel is proud of its strict policy in the treatment of its elephants. There is absolutely no riding, chaining or beating of any kind. The sole focus is to promote the well-being of retired elephants. An ethical elephant experiences for a small group tour in the Khao Sok jungle.
On the way to the restaurant, we will make a short stop at Khao Sok viewpoint to enjoy the stunning nature of the Khao Sok National Park.
At the restaurant we indulge in the local cuisine. Enjoy authentic Thai food. Rice cooked in bamboo completes this jungle-style lunch. Also you have the chance to experience a Thai cooking presentation.
After lunch is the right time to explore the dense forest on a bamboo raft. The professional paddlers will lead you to spectacular scenery along the “Khao Sok River”.
While rafting you will have chance to see great hornbills, various kinds of birds, lizards and sometimes gibbon, snake and much more. Take a swim before getting onboard.
On the way back to Khao Lak we stop for a photogenic cave adventure. Journey through the darkness for picture-perfect moments, take a rest for a cup of coffee or tea served in the bamboo cup. (keep as souvenir). The last stop will be at a local temple (Wat Tham Panturat) and an opportunity to feed the monkeys.
